The Ascending Spirits
Cranes represent the ascending spirit taking us on the path towards compassionate activity through meditation; this path of compassionate activity then takes us into the transcendent oneness of nature’s heart. The crane is a graceful symbol of peace, love, hope, and healing during challenging times. In Japan, the Crane is one of the mystical or holy creatures and symbolizes good fortune and longevity because of its fabled life span of a thousand years.
The Heron symbolizes stillness, patience, balance and tranquility, and how these things are needed to be in the present moment and recognize opportunities. The meaning of the Heron represents a sense of independence, a solitary bird that can also flourish when with others. The Heron knows solitude can be good for you, and being alone can teach you so many things, however it also teaches us to be open to receive help from others from time to time.
